On the way into Ludlow from Covington is an eye-catching grey Victorian house with a 3-story tower. That tower and the wrap-around porch are what made its owners fall in love with it.

In this week’s episode of Beyond the Curb: River City Living, viewers get to see inside.

The late 1800’s house had already been updated when the current owners found it. It has features they love, like the stone wall and barn doors in the main bedroom, the 6-seat kitchen island and the split staircase.

The owners’ style is an appealing mix of new and vintage furniture, plants, art painted by friends and interesting treasures they have collected over the years. The effect is inviting and personalized.

In addition to the big front porch, they recently added a deck behind the garage. This provides an extra spot to entertain or just hang out.

Ludlow’s charming downtown is a bonus for the couple. They walk to the shops and restaurants several times a week.

Their urban castle is guarded by Spartacus, their terrier-Chihuahua mix. They feel lucky to have found the house and, as they say in the episode, “it’s been great ever since.”
