Covington Police say the accident occurred when the driver of one of the vehicles turned northbound out of Pioneer Park into the southbound lanes of KY 17. It travelled just a short distance the wrong way on KY 17 before striking the southbound motorcycle.

Jobe was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Covington Police Traffic Unit responded to the scene to conduct a collision collision reconstruction investigation and was assisted by the Kenton County Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team.

There have been no charges filed at this time and the investigation is still ongoing.

Jobe was former mayor and fire chief of Bromley. He resigned in 2017 when he was accused of taking up to $10,000 of public funds. In 2018, he was indicted on multiple charges, theft, theft by deception, fraudulent use of a credit card, abuse of public trust, tampering with physical evidence and tampering with public records. A trial date had been scheduled for September.
