Another day, another student arrested, charged with threatening to shoot up a school in NKY

For the fourth time in less than a week, a student has been arrested in Boone County and charged with threatening to shoot up a school.

According to the Boone County Sheriff’s office, a 13-year-old Ockerman Middle School has been arrested and charged with Terroristic Threatening 2nd degree. In a release, the sheriff’s office indicates the student, a male, threatened Wednesday to shoot three specific 8th graders and 7th graders, in general.

Saturday, a 13-year-old RA jones Middle School male student was charged after police say he threatened to shoot “popular kids and teachers,” at that school.

On Monday, two 14-year-old Ignite Academy students were arrested and charged with Terroristic Threatening Second Degree, after police say they posted plans to shoot up the school.

The Boone County Sheriff’s office released this statement regarding the latest incident.

On Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at approximately 1:55 p.m. a Boone County Sheriff’s School Resource Officer charged yet another student, a boy, with threatening to shoot up his school in Florence, Kentucky.

The 13 year old, 8th grade Ockerman Middle School student made threats to shoot three (3) separate 8th grade girls as well as 7th graders in general.  Moreover, he admitted to searching the internet for a sub machine gun during class.  His actions and comments were brought to light after six (6) separate students came forward to school officials who immediately notified S.R.O. Chris Saunders.  Saunders further delved into the matter to learn the offender made statements to other students over the last several weeks to include; “You’re on my list, You’re going to be the first to go, You’re dead, I’m coming for you, I am going to shoot the school, Watch out, Watch out I’m warning you, You’re off my safe list, I can’t wait to blast these 7th graders, I will spray this school with bullets”, to name a handful.  Additionally, he would make gestures such as holding his hand in the shape of a gun and point it at students along with having his hand is his jacket pocket in a manner as if he was holding a gun and pointed it at other students.

The student was *charged with Terroristic Threatening 2nd degree, a Class D felony and lodged in the Campbell Regional Juvenile Detention Center.
