Norse men’s basketball coach will be guest speaker at NKy Sports Hall of Fame fundraiser Wednesday

Northern Kentucky University men’s basketball coach Darrin Horn will be the featured guest speaker at the Northern Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame fundraiser on Wednesday at American Legion Post 203 in Latonia.

The event is scheduled for 5 to 8 p.m. Admission will be is $10, which includes food. There will also be tickets sold for split-the-pot and door prize drawings.

Horn was hired as the sixth NKU men’s head basketball coach in April. During his career, he was head coach at Western Kentucky and South Carolina and an assistant head coach at Texas. Earlier this month, Horn took his first NKU team on a summer playing tour to the U.S. Virgin Islands and the Norse won all three games they played.

A television crew from TBNK will videotape Horn’s presentation and his interview with Charlie Coleman for future playback on cable channels 200 and 819.

The Northern Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame will begin its monthly induction meetings in September. At the fundraiser on Wednesday, there will be a banner listing all of the current members inducted since 1983. There will also be a display of memorabilia donated by hall of fame members to the Behringer Crawford Museum.
