NKU signs point guard Bryson Langdon; averaged 16.3 points and 3.8 assists in junior college

Northern Kentucky University men’s basketball head coach Darrin Horn announced Wednesday that Bryson Langdon, a guard from Arizona Western College, has signed with the Norse.

The 5-foot-9 Langdon averaged 16.3 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game as a freshman last season as the Matadors posted a 25-9 record. Langdon converted 46.3 percent of his field-goal attempts, including 40.2 percent from 3-point territory.

Bryson Langdon averaged 16.3 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game last season at Arizona Western College.

“We are excited to get a proven producer and winner of Bryson’s caliber committed this late,” Horn said. “He fills an important need for more ball handling and brings us an added dimension of quickness at the point guard position. He not only shoots a high percentage from three, but can shoot with range and will be able to push tempo for us in transition.”

Langdon started 30 of 34 games for Arizona Western, reaching double figures in the scoring column 29 times. Langdon’s penchant for explosive scoring outbursts was on full display as the native of Chicago posted 20 or more points 11 times, including a career-high 33 against Tohono O’odham in which he converted 12-of-14 shots and 7-of-8 from long range.

Langdon joins Adham Eleeda and John Harge as newcomers for NKU. A 6-foot-5 shooting guard from Sheridan College in Wyoming, Eleeda averaged 13.3 points last season. Eleeda’s 129 made 3-pointers ranked third nationally in NJCAA Division I.

The 6-foot-8 Harge played last season for Hillcrest Prep in Arizona, averaging 19.9 points, 7.7 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.8 blocks per game. He converted 48 percent from the floor, including 41 percent from 3-point range.

NKU posted a 26-9 record this past season and captured the Horizon League championship. The Norse advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the second time in three years and lost to eventual national runner-up Texas Tech in the first round.
