Paul Hallinan Miller who has made Circus Mojo a successful business venture and public service in Ludlow is branching out in a big way with his latest venture — BIRCUS Brewing Co.

Now, he has approval to move full steam ahead.

Miller has announced the formation of BIRCUS Brewing, which will seek investors and will expand the old Ludlow Theater, now undergoing restoration, into a brewery for “stellar beer” that will help drive the economic vitality of Ludlow — and benefit the Circus Mojo Foundation.

BIRCUS Brewing Co., says Miller, is the first brewing company in the USA and the first company in the Commonwealth of Kentucky to qualify its offering under Tier 1 of Regulation A+ with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

BIRCUS announced today that it has qualified with the SEC its offering of $500,000 in equity units at a fixed price of $1,000 per unit. The offering is being made in accordance with the rules of Regulation A+, Tier 1, Title IV of the JOBS Act.

Miller stresses that “you do not need to be a millionaire to back BIRCUS.”

Eligible investors residing in Kentucky and Indiana only can invest in BIRCUS: individuals can invest as little as $1,000, 26 people can invest $5,000 and up to 12 people can invest $10,000.

This is all a part of a strategic plan to expand the Ludlow Theatre into a brewery to connect local history, community outreach, unique entertainment and stellar beer, said Miller.

Proceeds from 26 Tuesdays a year will help fund the Social Circus Mojo Foundation, a nonprofit entity providing circus scholarships, job opportunities and free programming to improve individual lives and the community.

“We have our TTB Brewer’s Notice. We have hired an award-winning Brewer, Alex Clemens, and have assembled a fantastic team,” Miller said. “We want to make BIRCUS at the Ludlow Theatre a one-of-a-kind tourist destination by creating the most beloved, talked-about, tweeted and engaging brands of local beer.

“Over 50,000 people have attended our events and that number is estimated to grow to over 100,000 a year with the addition of BIRCUS.”

Miller, the sole manager of BIRCUS, said that locations serving BIRCUS beer will have access to live circus acts from acrobats and hula-hoopers to keg walkers and outdoor fire breathers, increasing revenue and a competitive advantage for our brand.”

He aims to create local jobs and support local businesses.

He says BIRCUS and Circus Mojo will hire neighborhood artisans whenever possible to customize their props and signs, use Steidle Fabricating in Bromley as well as Bluegrass Iron Works and Ideal Supply in Ludlow.

They also will collaborate with Folk School Coffee Parlor to produce local events and have featured Folk School musicians at the Ludlow Theatre.

As the BIRCUS Brewing Co. grows, BIRCUS plans to restore the iconic Ludlow Theater marquee to highlight upcoming events and talent.

Restoring the marquee, says Miller, will invite travelers to visit the cafes and restaurants, retail shops and art studios, and distillery and brewery.
