Bill Wulfeck named City Administrator of Erlanger, joining a team preparing for the city’s ‘what’s next’


The City of Erlanger announces the hiring of Bill Wulfeck as the new City Administrator of Erlanger, filling the position that was left vacant in May.

“On behalf of the City Council, City staff and the community, I am proud to welcome Bill Wulfeck to Erlanger,” stated Mayor Jessica Fette.

“Our City has a strong leadership team in place and Mr. Wulfeck’s skills complement that team. We have confidence in Mr. Wulfeck’s ability
 and experience to support Erlanger through what’s next.”

Bill Wulfeck was formerly the Director of Asset Management at Sanitation District #1 of Northern Kentucky, where he has been employed since 2014.I n this role at Sanitation District #1, Bill oversaw development, repair and maintenance of physical assets including the stormwater collection system, wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, fleets, and facilities.

Wulfeck has over 34 years of experience in the water and wastewater utility sector, holding prior leadership roles with Kentucky American Water and the Northern Kentucky Water District. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with a minor in Biology from Northern Kentucky University and a Master of Science in Environmental Science from the University of Cincinnati.

He is a NKY native, a Covington Catholic High School graduate, and a resident of Edgewood.

“I’m excited to join the team at the City of Erlanger. Everyone I have met has been very open and welcoming,” said newly appointed City Administrator, Bill Wulfeck. “I am looking forward to working in an environment where there is such a passion for public service and making a positive contribution to the success of Erlanger.”

Wulfeck will begin work at Erlanger on October 3rd and will supervise General Government, Human Resources Economic Development, and Information Technology departments, in his role as City Administrator.
