John Lonneman receives Lifetime Achievement Award from Notre Dame, for volunteer service


Notre Dame Academy presented a surprise award to long-time volunteer John Lonneman with the President’s Service Volunteer/Lifetime Achievement Award.

This award honors and thanks those who demonstrate commitment and example and inspire others to engage in volunteer service.

The Lifetime Achievement Award is recognized with a special President’s Call to Service Award, which honors those who complete more than 4,000 hours of service over the course of their lifetime.

“We congratulate John Lonneman on receiving the well-deserved honor of the Lifetime Achievement Award,” said Principal/Interim President at NDA, Jack Vandorhorf. “Mr. Lonneman has been instrumental in helping us address the challenges of COVID the last couple of years and we are incredibly grateful for his service to NDA.”

Lonneman has generously donated his time every day to volunteer at NDA for the last two years. He greets students as they arrive in the morning and waves goodbye as they leave in the afternoon. He helps at the school with various tasks throughout the day including filling in a substitute teacher and monitoring study halls and lunch periods Lonneman also coaches NDA’s archery team.
