The rash of school shooting threats by students in Boone County continues.
Thursday, a 15-year-old Cooper High School student was taken into custody and charged with Terroristic Threatening 2nd degree. The Boone County Sheriff’s office indicates in a release that the student threatened to shoot up a school bus.
This is the fifth incident in less than a week involving charges of terroristic threatening against a student in Boone County.
The Boone County Sheriff released the following statement regarding the latest incident.
On Thursday, November 21, 2019 at approximately 4:00 p.m. a Boone County Sheriff’s School Resource Officer arrested a 15 year old Cooper High School Student for threatening to shoot up a school bus.
The 10th grade student became upset with an incident on the school bus on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at approximately 3:30 p.m. and told another student he was going to, “shoot up the back of the bus.” While looking into the incident after it was reported today, S.R.O. Wayne Turner learned the student has access to three (3) weapons.
The student was *charged with Terroristic Threatening 2nd degree, a Class D felony and lodged in the Campbell Regional Juvenile Detention Center. He will appear before the judge in the morning.
