Redwood School and Rehabilitation Center, Inc. has received a $25,000 grant from Greater Cincinnati Foundation in support of their Early Childcare and Education Program, which serves children with and without disabilities.
Only 53 percent of Northern Kentucky children are kindergarten-ready. However, 94 percent of children participating in Redwood’s program for at least 6 months showed progress in social and emotional development, and 91 percent showed progress in cognitive and language skills.
To support the development of children with disabilities and medical fragility, Redwood offers onsite nursing care; speech, occupational and physical therapy; and Northern Kentucky’s only Assistive Technology Resource Center.
By offering a program where kids with and without disabilities learn, play, and grow together, children are prepared to learn in a diverse environment.
The generous grant from Greater Cincinnati Foundation will allow Redwood to continue helping its clients reach their highest potential throughout their lives.
Redwood is accredited through CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) and NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children) and helps children and adults with disabilities. Redwood serves over 750 clients each year through its 22 comprehensive programs ranging from educational, therapeutic and vocational services.
Its state-of-the-art facility allows clients to learn, interact and receive vocational training, while building upon their social skills in order to achieve the quality of life they deserve.
