St. Onge honored by Kentucky League of Cities
The Kentucky League of Cities (KLC) bestowed a 2018 “Friend of Kentucky Cities” award on Representative Diane St. Onge (R-Fort Wright). KLC Deputy Executive Director J.D. Chaney and Director of Governmental Affairs Bryanna Carroll presented Representative St. Onge the award at an Erlanger City Council meeting.
Representative St. Onge worked tirelessly during the 2018 Regular Session of the General Assembly to secure passage of House Bill 324, a KLC initiative that expands the definition of trespass to include the use of a drone above key infrastructure assets. She also cosponsored House Bill 2, a KLC initiative that brought about the first major reform of the state’s workers’ compensation system in more than 20 years.
Governor’s appointments to state boards
Mother Mary Christina Murray has been appointed by the Governor as a member of the Kentucky Board of Licensure for Long-Term Care Mother Mary Christina Murray of Walton is the president of the board at Taylor Manor. She will represent Leading Age Kentucky and serve for a term expiring Jan. 12, 2021.
Kris Knochelmann, of Crescent Springs, is the Kenton County Judge/Executive. He will serve for a term expiring Jan. 6, 2022. The Court Facilities Standards Committee has one Gubernatorial appointee, which is a County judge/executive appointed by the Governor.
Thayer honored by state Chamber
Kentucky Chamber President and CEO Dave Adkisson and Senior Vice President of Public Affairs Ashli Watts presented Senate Majority Leader Damon Thayer of Georgetown with the Chamber MVP Award.
Thayer was among a select group of legislators who “went to bat” for Kentucky business during the 2018 Kentucky General Assembly.
“During this high-profile legislative session and his 15 years in office, Leader Thayer has been a strong friend to the Chamber and to the business community,” said Kentucky Chamber President and CEO Dave Adkisson. “This session, Leader Thayer showed leadership in passing key business issues including passing a budget that prioritizes education funding, pension reform that puts Kentucky on a path toward sustainability, and tax reform that improves Kentucky’s competitiveness.” (Northern Kentuckians on the list include Adam Koenig, Addia Wucher, and Chris McDaniel.)
