Yealey Elementary gets help with Emergency Backpacks for classroom safety, thanks to donors

St. Elizabeth’s Healthcare delivered a donation of Emergency Backpacks to Yealey Elementary in Boone County Schools on Wednesday.

Each backpack contains emergency supplies such as a flashlight, blankets, bandages, alcohol wipes, gauze and other materials needed before first responders arrive in the event of an emergency.

Yealey needed 42 of them, one for every classroom, but the backpacks and their supplies are costly.

So with the help of Yealey employees Millie Asseo and Jim Boh, St. Elizabeth, Delta Airlines and Abiding Faith Church stepped up to make the Emergency Backpacks a reality.

A second-grade class came to welcome the delivery and prepared thank you notes and cards.
