The Redwood ATRC is a community resource in the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area.

As the only member of the Kentucky Assistive Technology Services (KATS) Network in the region, the ATRC has acquired a broad range of assistive technology to accommodate a wide variety of individual client needs. An extensive loan library features equipment available for loan and demonstration to anyone in the community who wants to know more about the item before they make a purchase.

The Redwood ATRC offers the most comprehensive range of assistive technology services in the region. As a member of the KATS Network, the ATRC also contributes to statewide initiatives.

The mission of this collaborative system is to make assistive technology information, devices, and services easily obtainable for people of any age and/or disability, their families, employers, employment service providers, educators, healthcare and social service providers.

Professionals with expertise in assistive technology, speech pathology and occupational therapy provide in-depth evaluations and consultation services for children and adults to identify the most appropriate assistive technology needed to foster independence. ATRC team members consult with Redwood staff and other organizations/professionals regarding the implementation of assistive technology solutions.

ATRC staff provides ongoing public awareness and resources for transition as well as training opportunities related to communication, positioning, mobility and intervention strategies using assistive technology.

Redwood participates in an AT Device Reuse Program. The ATRC accepts donations of used equipment and assists consumers in the acquisition of such equipment through re-utilization activities and events. Available re-utilization items are listed at www.katsnet.at4all.com.

The ATRC also provides assistance with loans of temporary portable ramps to help people with disabilities or short-term medical needs access their homes. Ramp building kits (using your own lumber) are also available as an alternative.

As a demonstration site for the Telecommunications Access Program (TAP) Redwood ATRC provides Kentucky residents with a hearing loss or speech impairment an opportunity to try out/trial a variety of telephones. This includes amplified phones, signaling devices and hands-free phones that are all free to qualified applicants.

TAP is administered by the Kentucky Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (KCDHH) and is a statewide program. For more information on the TAP program click here.

If you know of an individual that would benefit from any of the above programs, please contact Christine Siegrist at 859-331-0880 x-258 or e-mail csiegrist@redwoodnky.org for more information. The Redwood ATRC is open Monday thru Friday from 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
