NaviGo Scholars opens applications for the new school year; students can get connected

NaviGo Prep, a division of Children, Inc., is now accepting applications for the 2018-19 school year.

NaviGo Scholars works to connect local business sponsors with high school students, providing experiential learning opportunities within various career industries to guide and coach students preparing for college and careers.

The business sponsors have the unique opportunity to hand-select possible future employees and guiding them at an early age. The students receive a valuable experience exploring and learning about different areas of interest.

Nick Arlinghaus graduated from Cooper High School last spring and was a NaviGo Scholar for two years. Nick credits his NaviGo Coach, along with his sponsor, U.S. Bank’s Cyber Security team, for helping him achieve his post-graduation goals.

“The NaviGo Scholars program helped connect me with people in my field of interest,” said Arlinghaus, “while simultaneously offering help with the college application and selection process.’

NaviGo is excited to work with returning business sponsors — NKY Attorneys group, Duke Energy, Pomeroy, St. Elizabeth Hospital, St. Elizabeth Physicians, Toyota TMMK — and to introduce its new sponsors, Children, Inc., Milacron, Toyota NAPCK, and L’Oréal. The business sponsors provide a range of career fields for students to explore from education and engineering to healthcare and cybersecurity.

The students will have the chance to learn first-hand the skills and responsibilities of different specialties from skilled professionals while working with a NaviGo coach to help guide them through the process. NaviGo Scholars gives companies the rare chance to connect with their future leaders.

Applications will be available online for students through the NaviGo Prep website and will remain open for three weeks.
