The fourth retail location for Colonel De Gourmet Herbs and Spices opens in Fort Thomas today at 10 a.m.
Colonel De opened its world headquarters and production kitchen at the site in the Hiland Building at 18 N. Ft. Thomas Avenue earlier this month.

“Since leasing our space in the beautiful Hiland Building back in January, we have people asking every day ‘When are you opening?’ Well, Friday, April 29th is the day,” said owner Colonel De Stewart. “We hope to add to the already amazing community of Ft. Thomas by offering spices, blends both wet and dry from all over the world to our customers table.”
Colonel De Gourmet Herbs & Spices now has stores in Historic Findlay Market, Jungle Jim’s at Eastgate and the Friendly Market in Boone County.

The retail space at the Ft. Thomas location is 1,300 square feet with an art deco style décor, which is similar to the Jungle Jim’s location in Eastgate.
Stewart said having the production kitchen housed in this facility will help promote consistency of product and freshness for the four retail stores, online orders and local, national and international chefs who use Colonel De products.
In July to the Ft. Thomas location will become the Colonel’s Teaching Kitchen. The brainchild of Colonel De will allow him to share with people hands on how to make the best use of spices. Classes will begin booking soon on the Colonel De website .
Colonel De is hiring for full- and part-time retail positions at all four locations.
Ft. Thomas hours of business are Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday noon to 4 p.m. Free parking is available.
