Home Builders Association holds ceremony to honor Annual Award Winners in four categories


The Home Builders Association of Northern Kentucky presented its annual awards at a ceremony recently at the Holiday Inn Airport.

“We are very proud of our award winners,” said Brian Miller, Executive Vice President of the Home Builders Association of Northern Kentucky. “This year’s winners helped to drive the association and industry forward in 2015. Some of them have been engaged in actively supporting our industry for over 20 years. We feel truly blessed that they are a part of our organization and lucky to have them,” he concluded.

Award recipients were:

Donald M. Wiedeman Lifetime Achievement Award
Mike Kegley; The B.O.L.D. Company

Kegley received the award for his years of service to the construction industry. Highlights of Mr. Kegley’s achievements include, President, Home Builders Association of Northern Kentucky; President, Home Builders Association of Kentucky; National Area Chairman, National Association of Home Builders. Mr. Kegley provided testimony to the U.S. House Committee on Small Business related to 1099 tax reporting issues.

Builder of the Year
Cutter

Jim Cutter; Cutter Construction
Cutter was recognized for taking on the challenge to build four homes in a short time in order for HomeFest Manhattan Harbour to be brought to reality.

Associate of the Year
joellen Thompson

JoEllen Thomspon; Star Building Materials
Thompson received the award in recognition for her leadership in establishing and growing the masonry program that is a part of the Enzweiler Building Institute that is housed at the Home Builders Association’s headquarters in Erlanger.

Janis Beard Membership Award
Diane DeVore
Diana DeVore; Guardian Savings Bank
DeVore has dedicated two decades working on membership, retention, ambassadors and other committees throughout the association. Her focus for 20 years has been on the association’s membership; growing and fostering members in our industry.

The mission of the Home Builders Association of Northern Kentucky is to promote and enhance the integrity and visibility of the construction industry and the members of the organization through advocacy, communication, education and political action.
