NKy Chamber to recognize outstanding leadership, community service at annual dinner Sept. 17


The Northern Kentucky Chamber will recognize individuals who have shown exceptional community service and chamber volunteerism at its 2015 Annual Dinner on September 17. The dinner is presented by Fifth Third Bank.

The Walter R. Dunlevy/Frontiersman award, sponsored by Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America, Inc., recognizes individuals who have a life long history of outstanding service to the Northern Kentucky community, exhibit outstanding service to their profession or industry and exemplify the highest standards of personal integrity and family responsibility.

This year’s recipient is Gary Beatrice with Business Benefits Insurance Solutions. Mr. Beatrice has a respected history of service to the insurance industry, as well as service as chair of the Northern Kentucky Consensus Committee, chair of the HealthPoint Foundation Board, board member for Northern Kentucky University’s Health Innovations Center, and chair of the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce.

The Walter L. Pieschel award, sponsored by Heritage Bank, is named after the Chamber’s first volunteer leader and is given to an individual who exemplifies outstanding service to the Chamber. This year’s recipient is Dale Silver with C-Forward, Inc. Among many accomplishments, Ms. Silver has been instrumental in the growth of the NKY Chamber’s Women’s Initiative, served on the NKY Chamber Board of Directors, and held leadership positions as an alumna of Leadership Northern Kentucky.

The ImageMaker award, sponsored by Central Bank, is presented to an individual or individuals who have brought national or international attention to Northern Kentucky through their achievements. The Chamber is pleased to announce that this year’s recipient is the 2014-15Thomas More College Women’s Basketball Team. The Lady Saints of Thomas More College played an undefeated season clinching the Women’s Division III National Championship. The team was featured in the New York Times, Washington Post, and covered by national sports outlets including ESPN.

The Unity Award, sponsored by PNC Bank, is presented to an individual or individuals who have shown leadership in seeking regional solutions to Northern Kentucky’s challenges. This year’s recipient is myNKY, a plan driven by Skyward. The effort to create the myNKY strategic plan began with an in-depth public engagement process involving residents and businesses, as well as education, government, and civic leaders in order to develop a shared vision for our community and how it will evolve over the next five years. During a six-month engagement campaign, over 15,000 ideas were generated from the community.

The Northern Kentucky Fund of The Greater Cincinnati Foundation will award the Devou Cup. The Devou Cup was created to honor the generosity of individuals who have made a profound difference in the quality of community life in Northern Kentucky. The 2015 Annual Dinner will be held at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center. The evening will begin with a cocktail reception at 5:00 p.m. The dinner and program will begin at 6:30 p.m.
