University SLAM competition involves six teams to compete on a business problem for Brighton Center


Northern Kentucky University is hosting the 2018 UNIVERSITY SLAM, a collaborative effort between six Cincinnati-area colleges to help the Brighton Center of Greater Cincinnati.
 
Partners include the University of Cincinnati, Xavier University, Mount St. Joseph University, Thomas More University and Cincinnati Christian University who, along with NKU, each provide six students to participate in the SLAM.

The event challenges teams to address a business problem facing the Brighton Center of Greater Cincinnati. It takes place starting today 5-9 p.m. and tomorrow 8 a.m.-8 p.m. at the Kentucky Innovation Network of Northern Kentucky, 1 Innovation Alley in Covington.

Graduate and undergraduate students have 12 hours to develop their solution and present it to the Brighton Center.

A cash prize of $6,000 will be awarded to the winning cross-university team that presents the most effective solution.

Brent Cooper of the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce will emcee the event.
