Northern Kentucky Chamber’s March 20 Lunch & Learn to focus on improving employee well-being

The Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce (NKY Chamber) will host the second installment of its new Lunch & Learn series on creating a culture of wellness in the workplace Tuesday, March 20.

The March Lunch & Learn will focus on the role movement plays in improving an employee’s well-being at work. Each attendee will enjoy a healthy lunch option and take away convenient, healthy tactics that impact health and drive productivity.

“It’s near impossible to escape the sitting environment we live in today,” said Leisa Mulcahy, vice president of workforce for the NKY Chamber. “Whether it’s in the car or at the office, sitting is an integral part of our lives. Unfortunately, sitting in poor postures for long periods with little movement and few breaks can impact our health and reduce our productivity.”

Jerry Scarlato of Thriveology, a boutique fitness facility in Alexandria offering semi-private training, group fitness classes and lifestyle development, will lead the session. Scarlato, a certified strength and conditioning specialist, will discuss how combatting hours of sitting is imperative for your productivity and, most importantly, your longevity.

The “Movement at Work” Lunch & Learn will take place at the NKY Chamber (330 Buttermilk Pike, Suite 330, Ft. Mitchell, KY 41017) from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. The cost is $25 for current Chamber members $40 for future Chamber members.

Those interested in attending must register at www.nkychamber.com/events. St. Elizabeth Healthcare is the series sponsor for this event.
