Horizon Community Funds surpasses $10m in assets in less than six months; five-year goal is $50m

Horizon Community Funds of Northern Kentucky has surpassed $10 million in assets under management less than six months after its formation in August 2017.

The organization established an initial goal to raise $50 million in five years to support Northern Kentucky community needs and services.

“We are overwhelmed by the positive response to the formation of Horizon Community Funds,” stated Nancy Grayson, who serves as President of Horizon.

“Our rapid growth underscores the value in having a local charitable vehicle that will provide additional financial support to our Northern Kentucky community.”

Most of the funds raised to date are designated by donors, meaning that donors engage with Horizon Community Funds to recommend when and where contributions are spent.

To complement these funds, the organization is also launching a public campaign to grow its unrestricted Community Impact Fund. This accelerated initiative will bring an additional $5 million to the Community Impact Fund, the organization’s most flexible type of fund.

The Community Impact Fund supports the community’s most critical endeavors through long-term solutions, rapid response to emergencies, and agility in navigating ever-changing social, cultural, educational and environmental needs. The campaign will run through May 2018.

There are no minimum donor amount contributions to this unique fund within Horizon Community Funds. The entire population is invited and encouraged to participate by contributing on a regular basis according to their means and will to help.

Donations can be made directly to the Community Impact Fund online at www.horizonfunds.org, or through check mailed to Community Impact Fund, 50 E. RiverCenter Blvd., Suite 434, Covington, KY 41011.
