Child struck and killed while riding bike in Latonia, Cincinnati man charged with leaving the scene


On Friday, Oct. 6, Covington Police responded to the 0-100 block of East 32nd Street where a vehicle struck a child. The child, who was riding a bicycle during the collision, was killed instantly.

The vehicle involved did not remain at the scene of the collision.

Detectives and responding officers located the suspected vehicle and two occupants at a shopping center South of where the collision occurred. Detectives are still investigating the circumstances that led to the collision as well as the reason why the vehicle did not remain at the scene.

The victim has not been identified.

The driver of the vehicle has been arrested and charged with Leaving the Scene of a Fatal Traffic Collison which is a felony in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. He is Identified as: 45 Year old Christopher W. Wells of Cincinnati.
