KY Speedway has NASCAR XFINTY’s first playoff race, VisitMyrtleBeach.com 300 Sat., ARCA Friday

There is still time to purchase tickets for Kentucky Speedway’s fall race weekend.

Two days of racing kicks off Friday, with the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards Crosley Brands 150 at the Speedway, located in Sparta.

The ARCA Series is the most raced Series in Kentucky Speedway history. It has been a launching pad for notable NASCAR drivers, including Kyle Buch and Ryan Newman.

Saturday, the NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) VisitMyrtleBeach.com 300 takes center stage, with playoff contenders and future Monster Energy Series stars competing for a win and crucial playoff points.

The VisitMyrtleBeach.com 300 is the first race in the NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) Playoffs. Elliott Sadler captured the first NXS Playoff race last year, in the VisitMyrtleBeach.com 300.

Saturday activities include an NXS autograph session and a cruise in car show.

The weekend schedule, including race times, events and activities, and camping and ticket information, is included below.

NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) VisitMyrtleBeach.com 300 at Kentucky Speedway

  • Kentucky Speedway will serve as the first race of the NASCAR XFINITY Series Playoffs.
  • The VisitMyrtleBeach.com 300 at Kentucky Speedway will be the 23rd all-time series event at Kentucky Speedway.
  • Elliott Sadler won the first NXS Playoff race in last year’s VisitMyrtleBeach.com 300 at Kentucky Speedway.
  • In July, Kyle Busch started from the pole and won the NXS Alsco 300.
  • Kevin Harvick won the inaugural NXS race in 2001 and also in 2014.
  • The Round of 12 in the NXS Play-offs includes Kentucky, Dover and Charlotte. The Round of 8 begins in Kansas and also includes Texas and Phoenix. Homestead-Miami hosts the Championship 4 November 18.
  • JR Motorsports (JRM) driver William Byron leads the field into the playoffs. Among Byron’s wins is a stand-alone event at Iowa Speedway. He has 14 top 10’s in the first 21 races of the season. In 2018, Byron will drive the No. 5 for Hendrick Motorsports in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series. He is a former NASCAR Camping World Truck Series winner at Kentucky claiming the trophy in July 2016 becoming the youngest driver to win a NCWTS race at the track.

The 12-car field for the NASCAR XFINITY Series Playoffs, the seven-race stretch that will begins Saturday at Kentucky Speedway (8 p.m. ET, NBCSN, PRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio) and finishes on Nov. 18 at Homestead-Miami Speedway:

      3. Elliott Sadler, 2020 points
      4. Daniel Hemric, 2009 points
      5. Brennan Poole, 2006 points
      6. Ryan Reed, 2005 points

      9. Blake Koch, 2005 points
      10. Matt Tifft, 2004 points
      11. Brendan Gaughan, 2003 points
      12. Michael Annett, 2001 points

ARCA Racing Series (ARS) Crosley Brands 150

  • The most raced series in Speedway history makes its 24th all-time appearance September 23. The series’ first Kentucky event was July 2, 2000. Notable NASCAR drivers who have earned previous ARCA victories at the speedway include Kyle Busch, Ryan Newman, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., James Buescher, Parker Kligerman, Scott Speed and Michael McDowell.
  • Austin Cindric won the 2016 Crosley Brands 150. Cindric now drives in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.
  • For the third consecutive year, title sponsor Crosley Brands has awarded a Crosley jukebox to the winner of each race this season at Kentucky Speedway.
  • Crosley Brands CEO Bo LeMastus drives the No. 42 Crosley Brands Dodge in select ARCA events.
  • ARS points leader Austin Theriault owns four wins, 12 top five’s and 15 top ten’s.

Kentucky Speedway Race Weekend Activities:

  • Gates for the ARS Crosley Brands 150 will open at 1:30 p.m., with green flag approximately at 8 p.m.
  • Gate for the NXS VisitMyrtleBeach.com 300 at Kentucky Speedway will open at 2 p.m., with green flag approximately at 8 p.m.
  • NXS Autograph Session will be Saturday, September 23 in the Display Area on Concourse level and will include the Round of 12 Playoff drivers.
  • Fan Zone opportunities include pre-race driver introductions, access to the pit road area and victory lane.
  • The Kentucky Speedway Display Area will feature a cruise-in car show on Saturday. Registration is $39 and includes two tickets to the NXS VisitMyrtleBeach.com 300 at Kentucky Speedway.

Kentucky Speedway is located at 1 Speedway Drive, Sparta, Ky., 41086 just off Interstate 71 Exit 57 and Ky. Hwy. 35 North. Ticket office hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
