Four Northern Kentucky Health Department nurses part of a Kentucky group being deployed to Florida


A group of four Northern Kentucky Health Department nurses will be deploying to Florida this week to assist victims of Hurricane Irma.

The Northern Kentucky nurses will join with nurses from the Louisville and Franklin County health departments and the Kentucky Department for Public Health in a team of 10 that will travel first to Tallahassee, Fl.

From Tallahassee, the Kentucky team expects to be assigned to work in a special needs shelter. The deployment is expected to last two weeks.

The request for the nurses’ assistance was made to the Kentucky Department for Public Health by the Florida Department of Health.

The four NKY nurses are Bethany Mills, Sheila Nowak, Tina Price and Cathy Templeton.
