McDaniel receives Outstanding Legislative Service Award from Kentucky Association of Police Chiefs

Kentucky State Sen. Chris McDaniel, R-Taylor Mill, has received the Kentucky Association of Chiefs of Police (KACP) Outstanding Legislative Service Award for  his support of law enforcement during the 2017 Kentucky General Assembly regular session.

Paducah Police Chief Brandon Barnhill, left, president of the Kentucky Association of Chiefs of Police (KACP), presents Sen. Chris McDaniel, R-Taylor Mill, who represents Kentucky’s 23rd Senate District, with the KACP Outstanding Legislative Service Award.

Sen. McDaniel, chairman of the Senate Appropriations and Revenue Committee,  received the award during the KACP’s 2017 Annual Conference, which was held in July 24th through July 27th in Paducah.

“It’s an honor to be presented this award by the Police Chief’s Association for my work on behalf of law enforcement throughout Kentucky,” Sen. McDaniel said. “These are individuals who have reached the pinnacle of a career that epitomizes what it means to be a public servant. For them to recognize me in this way is humbling beyond words.”

Bellevue Police Chief Wayne Turner, who serves as chairman of the KACP Legislative Committee, worked with Sen. McDaniel closely during this year’s legislative session on issues such as Senate Bill 104 and Senate Bill 226, which dealt with reforming Kentucky’s public pensions.

“Sen. McDaniel is being honored by KACP for his outstanding legislative service to Kentucky’s professional law enforcement community,” Chief Turner said. “This recognition is well deserved and our way of saying ‘thank you’ for all that Sen. McDaniel did on behalf of the Commonwealth’s law enforcement officers during the 2017 legislative session.”

Elected to the Kentucky State Senate in 2012, Sen. McDaniel represents Kentucky’s 23rd Senate District, which covers much of Kenton County.
