Boone County Public Library calendar of events for August includes concerts, solar eclipse viewing party


The Boone County Public Library offers events at its branches and throughout the county during the month of August. Some events are one time only while others are recurring throughout the month. A list of scheduled events for adults is included here. A separate list of events for teens and children will be published separately.

Free Photo Digitizing

Do you have photos and documents that are sitting around? Bring them to the library where a trained volunteer or staff member will digitize them so they are preserved for future generations. Once items are scanned they can be saved to your flash drive, a CD or sent to an email. Registration is required. You will be contacted with a 30 minute time slot after registering.

Angler’s Legacy: Fishing 101

Ever want to learn how to fish? Through this program presented by the Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife, people with little or no fishing experience will learn the skills and confidence to become a lifelong angler. Learn how to successfully catch fish, use a spinning rod and reel, determine proper hook size, types of bait, bait a hook and take fish off a hook. Fishing locations and regulations will also be discussed. The class will also meet on August 23 at Camp Ernst to practice the skills they have learned. All necessary equipment, bait and tackle will be provided for the class on the 23. Participants will need to buy a fishing license. Please register.

Ceol Mhor (pronounced Kee-ol More) is one of the few Cincinnati-based Celtic bands to use vocals. This group sings in Welsh and English.
