NKY Chamber hires Kristin Baldwin as Vice President of Public Affairs and Communication

The Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce announced that Kristin Baldwin has been hired as Vice President of Public Affairs and Communication beginning May 24.

“We’re excited to welcome Kristin. Her experience and talents will build on the momentum that we have here in Northern Kentucky,” explains Trey Grayson, President/CEO, NKY Chamber of Commerce.

Baldwin comes from the Kentucky Distillers’ Association and was responsible for overseeing all governmental and regulatory affairs, member services, public relations and social responsibility efforts.

During Baldwin’s tenure in the Kentucky Bourbon industry, she led advocacy efforts to pass numerous pieces of legislation, including the Bourbon barrel ad valorem tax credit, as well as transformational legislation to expand and modernize Kentucky’s archaic alcohol laws and allow for the sale of vintage spirits at retail premises.

“Kristin Baldwin understands how Frankfort works.  Legislators appreciate her approach, and she can certainly juggle complex issues and personalities as she did working for the Bourbon industry for all these years.  She’s a rockstar all across the board!  I look forward to working with her.  The Bourbon Industry’s loss is certainly Northern Kentucky’s gain,” explains Marc Wilson, Partner, Top Shelf Lobby.

Before joining the Kentucky Distillers’ Association, Baldwin worked as Federal Affairs Manager for the Association of Global Automakers in Washington, D.C. for two years.  During her time in Washington, she helped lead federal advocacy efforts on all aspects of the automotive industry, with a strategic focus on free trade and customs issues.

As Vice President of Public Affairs and Communications, Baldwin will develop and manage public affairs and business advocacy for the Chamber, as well as the organization’s communications and marketing initiatives.  She will also work to assist the Chamber’s 1,500-plus members in a variety of areas.

Baldwin earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Financial Economics from Centre College in Danville.  Baldwin and her husband, Jeff, live in Florence.
