Toast for Hope celebration of Women’s Crisis Center’s 40th anniversary is Oct. 21 at Drees Pavillion


The annual Toast for Hope event on October 21st will celebrate the 40-year anniversary of Women’s Crisis Center’s service to the victims of domestic violence, rape and sexual abuse.

The fundraiser provides the revenues necessary to continue the nonprofits’ longstanding service to victims of abuse.

Women’s Crisis Center will be hosting its 8th Annual Toast for Hope on Friday, October 21st. This year, the Toast for Hope will take on special significance, as the Women’s Crisis Center is celebrating it’s 40 year anniversary.

Toast for Hope will take place at the Drees Pavilion in Covington. Cocktails will begin at 6:30, followed by dinner at 7:30. The event will have both a silent and live auction, as well as a champagne toast, music, and more. Those attending are asked to consider wearing purple or teal in commemoration of the Women’s Crisis Center’s 40 years of service.

For the past 40 years, Women’s Crisis Center assisted people who have experienced interpersonal violence. What began as a dream in 1975 of a few determined individuals to provide basic and dignified services to rape victims has grown and expanded to include a 24-hour emergency hotline, 2 domestic violence shelters, 5 walk-in offices, and a best practice prevention education curriculum for high schools, colleges and the communities in the 13-county Northern Kentucky area. 

Women’s Crisis Center has developed a longstanding community presence in Northern Kentucky, Maysville and Greater Cincinnati.

WCC been able to offer free 24/7 service responsiveness and survivor-centered advocacy programs because of our strong community partnerships, and outstanding support from community members.

In 2015, WCC assisted 1,490 survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.

WCC leads communities in the social change needed to end domestic violence, rape and sexual abuse and understand that everything counts when getting victims one step closer to peace.
