KCTCS announces finalists for position of Gateway president/CEO; on-campus interviews scheduled


Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) President Jay Box announced Wednesday the finalists for the position of president/CEO of Gateway Community and Technical College (GCTC).

The finalists are:
· Dr. Cristobal Valdez, president, Central Wyoming College
· Dr. Anthony Cruz, vice president for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs, Sinclair Community College, Dayton, Ohio
· Dr. Fernando Figueroa, vice chancellor for Educational Policy, Dallas County Community College District

The candidates are scheduled for on-campus visits and interviews May 26-27. During those visits candidates will meet with GCTC faculty, staff, students, the board of directors and local leaders.

The public also will have an opportunity to meet the candidates at the following forums:

All forums will be held at the Boone Campus Convening Room – B123.

“The process was thorough, professional, and rigorous. The field of candidates was strong and deep, a testament to the attractiveness of the growth opportunities that exist for Gateway. It is a milestone for NKY and a point of personal pride that the search process has resulted in three such extraordinarily qualified finalists. Today’s announcement is proof that in NKY there are no boundaries when it comes to recognizing talent and accomplishment.”

The new president is expected to assume the position July 1.
