Rita F. Pflueger (nee Wessling), 94, of Fort Thomas, passed away on January 6th, 2019. She worked at The Kentucky Post in her early years and was a homemaker, always involved in her children’s schools and church. She was an active member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Fort Thomas, and was honored with a personalized parking space right at the front door. Rita was also an avid Bridge player and member of many card clubs. She liked solving puzzles and was mentally sharp until the end of her life. Rita was preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, Ray Pflueger, and brothers Ralph and Jack Wessling. She is survived by her three children, Mark Pflueger, Lexington, Elaine (Jeff) Barth Bertke, Fort Thomas, and Ann (Fred) Calvert of Cold Spring; 7 grandchildren, Ben, Ian (Jaime), and Dane Pflueger, Erin (Phil) Scherrer, Jessie Barth, Dannon (Erik) Gough, Andrea (Kyle) Waymeyer, and 5 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 12-1 p.m. with the Funeral Ceremony to follow at 1 p.m., Sunday, January 13th at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Fort Thomas. A reception will immediately follow the service in the undercroft of the church.
