Richard C. Menke set an example for all of us on how to work hard, live a humble and generous life, and maintain a healthy sense of humor. He will be deeply missed by so many but his spirit lives on as do the many happy memories and soundtracks that will forever remind us of his love of music.

His story begins on May 4, 1959 in Detroit, MI, born to Dr. Richard and Mrs. Mary Ann Menke. He was one of seven children, Patty Greer (Roger), Paul Menke (Julie), Jeanne Carey (Tim), John Menke (Barbara), Tom Menke (Meg), and Beth Redwine (Jim) who preceded him in death and now rejoices with him in heaven.

He and (former) spouse Karen Rehkamp Menke welcomed 5 children: Tyler Menke (Michelle), Sam Menke, Angela Menke-Smith (Bryan), Justin Menke (Susie), and Brian Menke. He also leaves behind 6 grandchildren and one on the way: Jack Menke, Maya Menke, Eli Smith, Benjamin Menke, Kate Smith, Magnolia Menke, and little William Menke on his way. His young grandchildren were spoiled by snacks and candies from “G-pa” on Sundays and refer to him as “the nicest man.” Dick was a truly altruistic person who gave more than he received and expected nothing in return.

His family would like to invite all his many friends and family to a memorial visitation being held for Dick on Friday, May 10, 2019 from 5pm until 7pm at Linnemann Funeral Home, 1940 Burlington Pike, Burlington, KY 41005, and a memorial Mass on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 10am at Mary Queen of Heaven Church, 1150 Donaldson Hwy, Erlanger, KY 41018. In lieu of flowers, and in memory of his generosity, contributions can be made in his name to The Passionist Nuns of Erlanger, KY, 1151 Donaldson Hwy, Erlanger, KY 41018, OR to Parish Kitchen, 141 W Pike St, Covington, KY 41011.
