Gloria Agnes Mills, (nee Dames) was born July 14, 1929 to Eileen M. and Leo F. Dames in Newport, Ky. Gloria passed away at the age of 88 on July 4, 2018 at Carmel Manor, Fort Thomas, Ky. She leaves behind her daughter Andrea (Bill) Bunch and granddaughters Eileen and Julia as well as nephew Michael Clements and niece Martha Clements. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Byron A. Mills (1/5/2018), as well as sisters Rosemarie Dames and Dorcas (Jerry) Clements. Gloria attended St. Stephen and St. Therese grade schools and was a graduate of Notre Dame Academy. The manifestation of her artistic talents ranged from one-panel cartoons accompanying Groverman Blake’s column in the Cincinnati Times-Star to drafting at Whiteway Mfg. and the No. Kentucky Area Planning Commission to painting the original incarnation of the Children’s Room mural at the Ft. Thomas Branch of the Campbell County Public Library. Gloria was a member of St. Thomas Church for over 50 years. She offered her time volunteering as part of the St. Thomas Mother’s Club, CFM, and Familia. She spent many hours working at Brighton Center and on the Ft. Thomas Interfaith Vacation Bible School Committee. Her warmth and wit will be greatly missed by friends and family alike. Visitation will be held 3-6 pm on Sunday July 8, 2018 at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, 427 South Fort Thomas Ave. Fort Thomas, Ky. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am Monday, July 9, 2018 at St. Thomas Church, Fort Thomas, Ky. Burial will be at St. Stephen Cemetery, Fort Thomas, Ky. Memorials are suggested to St. Thomas Building for the Future Fund or St. Thomas Education Fund, 26 East Villa Place, Fort Thomas, Ky 41075. Dobbling, Muehlenkamp-Erschell assisting the family.
