Charles Kenneth “Charlie” McNay, of Union, KY passed away at his residence on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at the age of 86.

He was born in Williamstown, KY on October 2, 1932; the son of the late Wreford and Lorena McNay. Charles was a member of Mt Carmel Baptist in Williamstown, KY but attended Piner Baptist Church in Piner, KY. He had served in the United States Army during the Korean War and had retired from the Cincinnati Gas and Electric Co. as a lineman. Charles was a member of the Senior Pioneers at Piner Baptist Church and loved to go out to eat regularly with the “Lunch Bunch” all around Northern Kentucky. He also enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening and playing canasta. His greatest joy, however, came from spending time with those he loved the most, his family, especially his grandchildren.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings, Walter Lee (Betty) McNay, Carolyn (Jim) Edds, Betty Davidson, Sandra (Donnie) Roberts and Judy McNay. He is survived by his loving and caring wife of 59 years, Dorothy McNay; children, Tom (Sara) McNay and Lori (Eric) Nipp; grandchildren, Joe (Chelsea) McNay and Rebecca McNay; siblings, David (Pat) McNay, Phyllis (Wib) Ross, Jean (Don) Dibowski, Sharon McNay and Diana McNay; additional loved ones, Meyah and Leyah; as well as many nieces, nephews, other close relatives and friends who will mourn his loss and cherish his memory.

A visitation for Charles will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, June 7, 2019 at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM the following day, Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Piner Baptist Church, 15044 Madison Pike, Morning View, KY 41063. Burial will immediately follow in procession with military honors at Richwood Cemetery, 1070 Richwood Road, Walton KY 41094.
