Burnham Robert Foley (Butch) of Florence, died at age 78 at St. Elizabeth Florence. Butch was born in Chicago, IL to Maryan and Robert Foley in 1939. He graduated from Anderson High School, where he met Joyce Kirby. They didn’t know it then, but many years later they would reconnect and become husband and wife. They enjoyed a wonderful 27 years together. After serving in the Army, Butch enrolled at the University of Cincinnati where he earned a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. He went on to work at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio as a Project Manager. Butch is remembered as being a brilliant man. He would work on anything that had a motor, and his family all agrees that he could fix anything. He was a part of the Classic British Motorcycle Club where he helped rehab vintage motorcycles. His favorite was a 1937 Ariel 350cc. Butch loved a good book, taking river cruises, skiing, wind surfing and golfing. He even had a hole-in-one. Butch is remembered by his friends as loved and respected. His good nature, wisdom and intelligence are the impressions left on their hearts. Butch is preceded in death by his parents and brother, James Foley. He is remembered with love by those who survive him; beloved wife Joyce; step-children, Lisa Beiring Armstrong (Jeff) and Robert King Beiring, Jr. (Rex); step-grandchildren, Kirby and Logan Armstrong, and Brooke and Lauren Beiring along with niece Jamie Foley.
