Gov. Andy Beshear announced the opening of a Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) Driver Licensing Regional Office in Bellevue that expands driver licensing services to more Kentuckians in this part of the state.
The office, located at 103 Landmark Drive, Bellevue, Ky, 41073, is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. ET.
“The Bellevue office is a welcome addition to our network of regional offices across the state that offers both standard and REAL ID driver’s license and ID card versions,” Gov. Beshear said. “The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet continues to monitor statewide needs and identify areas to continue to take licensing to the next level in Kentucky.”
Like KYTC’s 31 other regional offices, the Bellevue office processes applications for REAL ID and standard-issue driver’s licenses, commercial driver licenses, ID cards and learner permits. It also processes in-person renewals and requests for replacement credentials.
Appointments can be scheduled online at drive.ky.gov, but the office also serves walk-in customers on a first-come, first-served basis while slots are available.
Kentuckians can “skip a trip” to an office by renewing their present credential online or by mail. To date, nearly 250,000 Kentuckians have renewed remotely.
“More convenient online and mail-in card renewal options are a direct benefit of the transfer of licensing services from circuit court clerks to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet,” KYTC Secretary Jim Gray said. “We look forward to offering more modern conveniences in the near future.”
Driver testing is conducted by Kentucky State Police and must be completed before a permit or license can be requested. Testing appointments can be made online at kentuckystatepolice.org/driver-testing/.
