St. Elizabeth Ft. Thomas Emergency Department honored with Lantern Award for second time

St. Elizabeth Ft. Thomas Emergency Department has been honored as a Lantern Award recipient for the second time. The Lantern Award is presented by the Emergency Nurses Association, the premier professional nursing association dedicated to defining the future of emergency nursing.

The Ft. Thomas Emergency Department is among 29 national Lantern Award recipients for 2022. As the first to receive this designation for St. Elizabeth Healthcare in 2019, this renewal confirms their ongoing dedication to quality care and illustrates outstanding nursing performance.

The Lantern Award recognizes emergency departments that demonstrate exceptional and innovative performance in leadership, practice, education, advocacy and research. It showcases an emergency department’s commitment to incorporating evidence-based practice and innovation into emergency care, and is a visible symbol of a hospital’s ongoing commitment to quality, safety and a healthy work environment.

“Nursing plays a vital role in fulfilling our mission to provide comprehensive and compassionate care to those we serve,” said Vera Hall, Senior Vice President, Chief Patient Care Officer and Chief Nursing Executive at St. Elizabeth Healthcare. “This incredible honor signifies the exceptional care the Ft. Thomas Emergency Department provides for our patients.”
