As one of only five recipients to ever be recognized with the award, Huff joins an elite echelon of honorees who have a lifetime of dedicated service to the REALTOR Association and real estate industry.

“It’s such an exciting time of growth at HUFF Realty — the NKAR recognizing our founder Jim Huff for his lifetime of service affirms everything he’s created and what we continue to build,” said HUFF Realty President Brad DeVries. “We’re thriving because of Jim’s vision and leadership. His impact extends well beyond HUFF and to our region’s entire industry.”

Huff first opened HUFF Realty’s doors in 1975 in Ft. Mitchell. With his strategic focus on consumer satisfaction, innovative technology, and an agent-centric philosophy, the company has since grown to include more than 475 agents through Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana.

It is now one of the region’s largest real estate companies, and as of 2006, is part of HomeServices of America, Inc., a Berkshire Hathaway affiliate, the largest home services provider in the United States.

Beyond establishing and growing HUFF Realty, Huff has been influential throughout the real estate industry.

He served on the Kentucky Real Estate Commission for a total of 25 years, and was appointed chairman four times during his seven-consecutive governor-appointed terms as commissioner. He is also largely responsible for a statewide errors and omissions insurance platform that continues to serve the needs of Kentucky real estate practitioners today.

Huff has served as a director of the Association of Real Estate License Law Officials (ARELLO), holding the position of southern district vice president.

“At HUFF, we’ve built a company culture around Jim’s philosophy for how real estate should be. An industry where everyone thrives — our agents, staff and most especially our clients,” DeVries said. “We owe everything we are to Jim.”
