Florence Freedom and R.C. Durr YMCA partner on youth baseball programs for 2020 season

The Florence Freedom and the R.C. Durr YMCA have announced a partnership for the upcoming youth baseball season.

Starting May 30, UC Health Stadium will be the host site for the YMCA youth baseball program in Boone County on Saturday mornings.

“The partnership speaks to the Freedom and the YMCA’s commitment to giving kids in our area the best possible access to facilities and overall experiences that encourages them to live an active and healthy lifestyle,” Freedom Vice President and General Manager Josh Anderson said.

The YMCA partnership will now create multiple baseball leagues for youth at UC Health Stadium.

The overarching ‘Junior Freedom: The League’ will now boast a Professional division, which will still be coached by Freedom players/coaches, and this new Recreational division presented by the YMCA and led by traditional volunteer coaches.

“As part of the YMCA’s commitment to serving our community, we recognize the power of collaboration. By partnering with our local professional baseball team, the Florence Freedom, we are able to elevate the quality of our baseball program in order to enhance every youth’s ability to achieve, find a sense of belonging, and build relationships,”  said YMCA of Greater Cincinnati Vice President, Jacob Brooks.

Both leagues will be broken down into age groups representing T-Ball (3-4-year-olds), Coach Pitch I (5-6-year-olds) and Coach Pitch II (7-8-year-olds).

Registration for the Professional division, presented by Walmart, is currently open online at FlorenceFreedom.com.

The Recreational division will open registration on December 16.
