Winter weather doesn’t stop the Boone County Public Library concerts, the music just moves indoors

The Boone County Public Library concert series has moved indoors as the weather turns colder, but there is still plenty of music throughout the county. A list of upcoming performances is included below.

Queen City Sisters 

Friday, December 6, 7 p.m.

The Queen City Sisters are a top notch group of women who perform songs of yesteryear and nostalgia in acapella in a tightly harmonized trio. Join them as they preform holiday songs from all eras – all of Santa’s favorite hits! 

Lagniappe 

Friday, December 13, 7 p.m.

Join local favorite Lagniappe for a toe-tapping good time, featuring some of your favorite holiday tunes with a Cajun twist! 

The Hills of Kentucky Dulcimers  

The Hills of Kentucky Dulcimers will present their annual Christmas Concert at the BCPL Florence branch on Sunday December 15 at 2 p.m. (provided photo).

The Hills of Kentucky Dulcimers present their annual Christmas concert! Listen or sing along with the Dulcimers as they play carols, gospels and other holiday songs. 

Hartstrings Bluegrass Band

This band plays an interesting mix of traditional bluegrass classics, contemporary favorites and several of their own original songs and instrumentals. 

The Livelys

Join the Livelys under the dome for an intimate performance featuring a wide variety of music including folk, rock, blues, and more. This family group utilizes a variety of instruments including guitar, congas, pan flute, harmonica, and more!

 

 

The Buzz Ford Show featuring the American Kings 

Friday, January 24, 7 p.m.

The Buzz Ford Show is your chance to spend an evening as a live audience member witnessing a musical variety show delivered from the golden age of rock n roll. This show features all the big rock ‘n roll hits of the 1950s by America’s only atomic powered band – the American Kings!

Chelsea Ford and the Trouble 

Sunday, February 2, 2 p.m.

This band is comprised of banjo, acoustic guitar, and upright bass, with the occasional complimentary violin, dobro and steel guitar. They play a blend of music from Americana, bluegrass, and folk traditions.  

The Ben Levin Trio

Boogie Woogie, blues, and more are part of this trio’s signature sound. 

Kentucky Wild Horse 

Friday, February 28, 7 p.m.

Their repertory consists of old-time and bluegrass songs, and fiddle tunes learned from the many older Kentucky musicians they have known over the years as well as newer original songs that reflect on life in the region today. Along with the songs and tunes, audiences are treated to stories of the wise and colorful characters whose music inspired the band.
