Local author and Public Arts Network leader team up to create a creepy fundraiser for Welcome House

If you love secrets and you love Halloween, this fundraising tour is for you.

Inspired by the recent book, Secret Cincinnati, the Spooky Secrets Tour was created by the book’s author, Kathy Witt, and Jill Morenz, who leads the NKY Public Arts Network.

Proceeds from the tour will go to Welcome House of Northern Kentucky.

John Witt, photographer for the book, will lead the tour, giving attendees an up-close look at some of its creepier “secrets”, including a few new ones that weren’t in the original edition.

Tour attendees will start the evening at Ludlow’s Second Sight Spirits, where they will enjoy a signature drink, such as the Spiced Premonition or a Swami’s Mojito, while interacting with the fortune telling-themed décor in the lounge.

The tour bus will then take everyone to Behringer-Crawford Museum for a private showing of a selection of weird and mysterious artifacts from their permanent collection.

The next stop is the perennially creepy Hail Dark Aesthetics store in Covington’s MainStrasse Village. It will be open just for tourgoers, who can browse through the collection of paranormal and occult objects, crazy taxidermy and vintage vinyl.

Newport is the next destination, where the Thursday tour will stop at Tuscarora Moon for tarot readings. On the Friday tour, the readings will take place inside Falcon Theatre. Evil eye cookies will accompany the readings.

Then it’s back to Covington for ghost stories about the Riverside Drive statues and nearby stately homes.

The tour’s final stop is at Roebling Point Books, where attendees can sip a coffee drink and receive a signed copy of Secret Cincinnati. Afterward, the transport will take everyone back to their vehicles in Ludlow.

The tour dates are Thursday October 24 and Friday October 25 from 5:30 – 10:00 pm. Tickets are $100 and are limited to 20 each night.

Enjoy an evening of close encounters and scary stories by purchasing tickets here.
