BLINK announces projection mapping artists & muralists for October 10-13 art, light & culture event

BLINK® has announced its line-up of projection mapping artists and muralists for the October 10-13 art, light and culture event.

BLINK 2019 artist announcements – projections for October 10-13 art, light & culture event that will include five urban zones in cincinnati and Northern Kentucky

BLINK, illuminated by ArtsWave, will happen from Cincinnati’s Findlay Market neighborhood to Covington, Kentucky – bridging two states, and spanning 30 city blocks and the Ohio River.

The only U.S. event of its kind, BLINK will feature large-scale projection mapping, murals by international artists, interactive light sculptures and diverse entertainment. BLINK parade participants and light-based installation artists will be announced by BLINK partner, ArtWorks, in September.

BLINK in 2019 will feature 39 projection mappings created by 36 organizations or artist groups and curated by BLINK partner, Brave Berlin of Cincinnati.

The artists come to BLINK from six countries and seven U.S. cities, including 21 from Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. See the list below.

“BLINK will feature nearly double the number of projection mappings (20) of 2017, and we’re thrilled that 50 percent of our projection mapping installations are either led by or exclusively produced by female artists,” said Steve McGowan of Brave Berlin.

Sixteen new murals will be created for BLINK in 2019, curated by BLINK partner, The AGAR, of Cincinnati. The muralists represent eight countries and six U.S. cities, including Xylene of Cincinnati.

See the list below.

“We’re excited to bring this diverse and globally renowned group of artists to BLINK. The 15 new murals will join the nine created in Cincinnati’s Findlay Market neighborhood for BLINK in 2017,” said Andrew Salzbrun of The AGAR.

NEW ARTSWAVE BRAND MARK

Additionally, ArtsWave, the engine for the arts and illuminating sponsor of BLINK , unveiled its new brand identity, designed by Cincinnati-based global brand and innovation consultancy LPK.

“Just in time for BLINK, ArtsWave is proud to share with you our new visual identity, one that focuses on the wave of arts impact that events like this and the 100+ others that you and me make happen to keep Greater Cincinnati amazing.” said Alecia Kintner, president and CEO of ArtsWave.
