Martin named new Wilder police chief; Chief Andrew Williams retires after 21 years of service to city


Effective July 1, 2019, Officer Chad Martin will be promoted to the position of Police Chief.

Martin has been with the Wilder Police Department since 2016. He comes with service as a law enforcement officer since 1998 bringing experience from both large metropolitan police agencies to small community focused agencies.

Bob Arnold, Mayor of the City of Wilder stated “Chad has a very diverse background and is the kind of forward-thinking leader the City needs at this time as we embark on implementing our comprehensive plan”.

Outside of the Wilder Police Department, Martin has a background with military experience from the United States Navy, he is a business owner, and has received many awards and achievements throughout his career as a LEO. He also volunteers time to educate schools, churches, and businesses on how to respond to active shooter situations.

Chief Martin will be replacing former Chief Andrew Williams who announced his retirement on June 1 after 21 years of dedicated service to the city. Chief Williams will be honored at a reception held at the Wilder City Building on July 5″.

The City of Wilder is currently accepting applications/resumes from qualified candidates for the position of police officer lateral. Applicants must be POPS certified. Salary range negotiable based on experience along with an excellent benefit package.
