Kenton County Parks & Recreation is about to embark on their twelfth season of ‘outstanding’ science programming in Kenton County’s Parks. (Almost) Every Other Thursday Science programs are interactive, educational and fun.
Programs are held in Shelterhouse 1 at Pioneer Park, rain or shine, beginning at 10 a.m. on each of the dates. The free programs are delivered in one hour theatrical assembly presentations.
It’s not just for schools and school-age children, this program has something for everyone!
Arrive early for best seating. Be sure to check out the pre-program (9:30 AM) and post-programs (11AM), as they vary. The actual Science programs will begin at 10 AM

June 27 – Go Fish! with Foundation for Ohio River Education
9:30 a.m. Pre-program: Kenton County Public Library
11 a.m. Post-program: Girl Scouts of Kentucky’s Wilderness Road Council
July 11 – May the Force Be with You! With Crystal Clear Science
9:30 a.m. Pre-program: Kenton County Public Library
11 a.m. Post-program: Dominach’s Taekwondo Academy
July 25 – The Best of Science Matters with Science Matters in America
9:30 a.m. Pre-program: Girl Scouts of Kentucky’s Wilderness Road Council
11 a.m. Post-program: To Be Decided
August 8 – Riparian Zone in a Pot with Foundation for Ohio River Education
9:30 a.m. Pre-program: Kenton County Public Library
11 a.m. Post-program: Dominach’s Taekwondo Academy
Snack lunches will be available for $1 a person and will be provided by Snappy Tomato Pizza in Ft. Wright. Fruit and veggies will be served on the side, thanks to grants from Cincinnati Children’s and Greater Cincinnati Foundation. Lunch is served at 11:30 am.
(Almost) Every Other Thursday Science programs are free to attend and enjoy. Instead of money, Kenton County Parks & Recreation collects non-perishable food or personal care items for Be Concerned.
