Tristate Veterans Community Alliance hosting ‘Operation Deep Dive’ on suicide among veterans

Tristate Veterans Community Alliance (TVCA) is hosting a public meeting to brief community leaders on Operation Deep Dive, a new study examining the factors related to suicide and self-harm among military veterans.

Led nationally by America’s Warrior Partnership, University of Alabama researchers and the Bristol Myers-Squibb Foundation, the goal of the project is to guide the development of more effective community programs to help prevent and reduce suicide and self-harm among veterans.

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs estimates that 20 veterans die from suicide every day, making this a critical issue that must be addressed by every community across the nation. Veteran-serving organization leaders, law enforcement officers, clinical mental health counselors, crisis line workers, social workers, coroners, and medical examiners, and other local community leaders are invited to attend this meeting for an overview of the study and how they can contribute to its success.

The meeting will be May 1 from Noon – 2 p.m. at the United Way, 2400 Reading Road, Cincinnati. Lunch is free.

Seats are limited, so registration is requested at this website.
