A learning Fest: Here’s a way to prevent hearing ‘I’m bored’ or from seeing kids on devices all summer

NKY Camps and Activities Fest is joining forces with the World Maker & Inventor Expo to provide the opportunity to get STEM-y AND learn more about summer camps, activities, and opportunities at the same time.

Both events will be held at Boone County High School, 7056 Burlington Pike in Florence from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 27.

Tickets may be purchased in advance for $8/person or $10/person at the door.

A family 4-pack for $30 may also be purchased. Food trucks will be on site to satisfy your hunger as you spend the day.

At the NKYCAF visit with many organizations that offer camps or activities for kids from ages PreK through high school. There will be something for everyone, including giveaways at each organization’s table along with the World Maker Inventor Expo having many raffles.

NKYCAF event coordinator, Julia Pile, explains the reason behind the event.

“I have discovered that there are many opportunities to keep kids engaged all summer long from museums to the parks to local farms, but parents just do not know what all the options are.

“This event helps bring parents and organizations together all in one place. Now that my kids are in middle and high school, I am having to go through the process again since their interest has changed since elementary school.”

On the two events joining forces, she says, “I am extremely excited about joining forces with the World Maker Inventor Expo. Families will get to participate in hands-on learning experiences and learn about organizations who have activities to keep kids busy all summer. It is a win, win for everyone!”

Organizations may register for free for the NKYCAF here.
