The Kentucky Association for Government Communicators (KAGC) is the home for Kentucky professionals whose primary jobs involve communicating with media, the public, legislators and others.

The KAGC’s goal is to improve and enhance the expertise, public image, morale, effectiveness and the work of our federal, state and local agencies.

The KAGC is offering one Kentucky public high school senior who intends to study communications or journalism at any postsecondary institution a non-renewable $500 scholarship. Applicants must be Kentucky residents and must be a senior in the spring of 2019.

The application must be submitted electronically and includes:

•A 500- to 700-word original essay: describing your post-secondary education and career goals;

•A current grade-point average: the winner’s GPA must be verified by the school principal;

•Three references: two from teachers/administrators and one from a representative of an external group/organization (name, title, email and phone);

•One letter of recommendation: from a teacher/administrator (the author must be listed as one of the three required references); and

•General resume information: personal information about school activities and honors, work and volunteer experience.

The application deadline is March 15. Visit KAGC’s website to apply or email KAGC for more information, using “Question” in the subject line.
