Former Covington Catholic basketball player Jacob Walter was arrested Tuesday night on charges related to the alleged sexual assault of woman.

Walter

Walter, of Burlington, has been charged him with one (1) count of Rape 1st Degree and two (2) counts of Sodomy 1st Degree. Rape 1st Degree and Sodomy 1st Degree are both Class B Felonies.

According to a release from the Boone County Sheriff’s office, detectives from that department were notified on Sunday about an allegation of a sexual assault involving an 18 year old female victim and Walter.

The victim reported that on that day, Walter forcefully raped and sodomized her throughout the day. The victim stated that she was fearful of Walter due to his size, strength and aggressiveness and told Walter that she did not want to have sex with him due to her not feeling well that day.

Walter is 7 feet tall and weighs 300 pounds.

According to the report, on two (2) occasions, Walter was said to have sodomized the victim while holding her down and pulling her hair which resulted in bleeding and physical injury to her anus.

During one (1) other occasion, the report states, Walter forcibly raped the victim while choking her and pulling her hair.

The report states the victim told Walter to stop, that she didn’t want to have sex with him and that he was hurting her.

Walter, the release states, dismissed the victim by laughing at her and telling her that she would be fine. The victim told a family member about the sexual assaults and the family member was able to get Walter to leave the residence.

After Walter left the residence he reportedly began texting and calling the victim multiple times saying that he was sorry. The family member contacted the Sheriff’s Office to make the report of the sexual assault.

The victim sustained several contusions to her right upper arm, contusions to her right breast and a laceration to her left nipple, according to the release. An examination report also noted bruising on the victim’s buttocks and several lacerations to her anus.

Walter helped lead Covington Catholic to a state title in 2017. Last year, he signed to play basketball for Xavier University, but has not enrolled there.

Walter was lodged at the Boone County Detention Center and held on a $250,000 cash bond.

He is the son of former Cincinnati  Bengal Joe Walter.

The Boone County Sheriff’s office emphasized that charges in a criminal complaint are accusations only and it is the government’s burden to prove the allegations beyond a reasonable doubt.
