Duke Energy deploying more than 1000 from Ohio, KY and Indiana for restoration efforts in Carolinas


Duke Energy is deploying over 1,000 employees and contract workers from Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana to help with prospective restoration efforts from the Carolinas ice and snow storm.

Duke Energy crews will be gathering at the Eastgate Mall Parking area off SR 32 in Eastgate. The contract crews are being dispatched directly from their locations.

Duke Energy Ohio and Kentucky crews will leave the area between 6:45 a.m. and 7 a.m., with line crews traveling in bucket trucks, accompanied by supervisors, and fleet personnel.

Approximately 15 vehicles will depart the rest area and head toward North Carolina, with arrival in Greensboro Saturday night.

Once there, they will be dispatched to the hardest hit areas in the Carolinas to help restore power in the region.

The crews are leaving from Eastgate Parking lot off I-275 in Eastgate.
