On Tuesday, January 15, 2019, hundreds of women and men from around Northern Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati will gather at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center (1 W. RiverCenter Blvd., Covington, KY) to network and hear from Heather Howell, Director of Emerging Brands at Brown-Forman Corporation, who will provide the morning’s keynote address.

“Heather gained a breadth of experience in entrepreneurial growth, human resources, workforce development, diversity and talent outreach throughout her impressive career, and the Women’s Initiative team knows her insights are the perfect fit for our tenth anniversary celebration,” said Allyson Cook, Stites & Harbison, PLLC, and 2019 Women’s Initiative Annual Breakfast Chair.

Howell developed the Emerging Brands Department within Brown-Forman and is the Brand Director of Coopers’ Craft Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey – the company’s first new bourbon released in over twenty years.

Additionally, she has been recognized on local, regional, and national scales. Notable achievements include receiving Ernst & Young’s 2013 E.D.G.E. award, being named the Business First of Louisville 2014 Enterprising Woman to Watch, and a finalist of Business First of Louisville’s Business Leader of the year.

Her keynote, Surround Yourself with the Best to be the Best, will address how people within your teams influence you in negative and positive ways, and how to evaluate life and those you select to be in it.

“Our lives are enriched by those in which we share our true selves,” Howell said. “The type of person you become is threaded together by the people you select to be in your inner circle, so it’s important to evaluate how they will shape your path to success.”

The NKY Chamber Women’s Initiative started in 2008 and is the leading organization for women of all career stages to connect, grow and achieve for business and professional success. The Women’s Initiative offers a continuum of growth for women of all ages and stages of their careers.

In addition to the keynote address, the breakfast will include the presentation of the Debbie Simpson Spirit of Achievement Award. Named after the founding Women’s Initiative member, the award is presented to a professional woman who has had career success, been active in the community, and made a significant impact on the Women’s Initiative.
