Covington Police identify man shot and killed Monday night in alley near Euclid Street

Covington Police have released the name of the man shot and killed in an alley behind Euclid Street Monday evening.

 

Responding to reports of shots fired in the area of West 18th and Euclid Street at about 8:30 p.m., officers located a shooting victim, later identified as Malachi Rice of Cincinnati, in the alley.

Rice, 19, was dead when his body was discovered.

No further information is available at this time.

Covington Police issued the following release regarding the incident:

On November 12, at approximately 2150 Hours, the Covington Police responded to the area of West 18thand Euclid reference numerous calls of shots fired. Officers located a victim in the alley behind 1812 Euclid who was shot and had succumbed to his injuries. Detectives, Crime lab, and the Kenton County Coroner were notified and responded.

The victim has been identified as Malachi Rice, 19 years of age, of Cincinnati. Investigators are still trying to gather suspect information.
