As a special request, we are asking attendees at the Education Council’s Fall Meeting and Coalition Launch to support kids in need throughout NKY schools.

In connection to the Council’s Resilient & Ready by Design initiative (RRD) and in partnership with United Way Greater Cincinnati/NKY, there will be a collection on October 31st for hygiene kits for students within 11 school districts across Northern Kentucky. We ask that you bring items to donate from the list below, or donate full hygiene kits.

The United Way Greater Cincinnati/NKY will be delivering the items to school district representatives.

Don’t miss this opportunity to FIND YOUR PLACE.

The hygiene kit donations:

Kids want to look good and feel good every day at school. Many local schools are in need of hygiene kits to help kids living in poverty achieve that goal.

According to data collected by the Council’s RRD initiative and Resiliency Poll, students who are hopeful, engaged and thriving based on core resilience and risk indicators, are on the correct trajectory to be prepared for college, career and life. Good hygiene is an important part of a young teen’s health, wellness, and self-esteem, and kids with poor hygiene can face harmful consequences. Students may be more prone to developing rashes and infections or may become the target of bullying.

Hygiene kits include the following full-size items for the student and family (and are gender appropriate):

• Toothbrush
• Toothpaste
• Shampoo
• Conditioner
• Soap
• Deodorant (M/F varieties)
• Hand Sanitizer
• Body Lotion
• Comb (M), Brush (F)
• Wash Cloth (M) or Sponge Puff (F)
• Maxi Pads (F)
